Ted Smith founded Smithco in 1967 with a single product: the Red Rider utility truck. Today you can still see original Red Riders whizzing about golf courses and athletic fields but in the intervening years Smithco has become a multi-million dollar manufacturing, engineering and marketing organization with world wide distribution.

Manufacturing plants are located in Wisconsin and in Kansas. Administrative offices are outside of Philadelphia in Wayne Pa.

Although today Smithco is considerably larger and more diversified, it continues to operate as a family business with the values that were important then still just as important now.
