GCSAA Conference and Trade Show 2023 Recap

This month's blog looks back at a successful GCSAA Conference and Trade Show held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, February 5 through February 10.

GCSAA Conference and Trade Show Saw Huge Gains in 2023

The GCSAA were delighted with the attendance at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show, and it was certainly a successful event for the Smithco team.

Attendance was up 69% over the 2022 event in San Diego with a total attendance of 11,000 vs. 6,500 in-person attendance in 2022; comparable with the 11,700 who attended the last pre-pandemic event held in Orlando in 2020. A total of 6,300 seminar seats were filled, which was up 70% over 2022, and was the highest number since 2008. In addition to education for superintendents, the event also included specialized education for assistant superintendents, equipment managers, students and more. 

We were one of the 450 exhibitors and echo the sentiments of the GCSAA as we saw a lot of foot traffic in our booth this year with particular interest in the 300T towable sprayer. The 300T is our latest product, delivering the precise spray application users know and love at an affordable cost. It provides a fantastic opportunity to get in front of more budget-conscious customers.

More affordable than a new piece of spray equipment, it allows superintendents to reap the benefits of a Smithco sprayer at a budget they can afford. All they need is a heavy duty vehicle with 4-wheel brakes, a minimum drawbar power of 20 HP (15 kw) and 3500 lb (1587.57 kg) towing capacity, and then it’s just hitch and go. Superintendents can seamlessly integrate this unit with their existing equipment and it’s simple and easy to use, saving time and money. Equipped with the most precise spray application in the industry, TeeJet’s 8140 technology, it saves time and money.

North American Salesperson of the Year was Jason D’Andrea, Sales Representative at our Canadian dealer, GC Duke Equipment based in Burlington, Ontario. Great job, Jason.

And our next congrats goes to our Dealer of the Year, Ladd's out of Memphis, TN, who did an awesome job in 2022.

And finally, last but certainly not least, our International Dealer of the Year is Trieu Giang Trading Services Company Limited from Vietnam. Unfortunately, they were not able to join us at the Show, but we thank Vincent Ly and his team for their hard work and commitment!
